One Year Later...

Make yourself some Hot Cocoa because it's story time!

It has already been one full year since Deanna, and I left our home in Miami and started traveling full time.

The time has moved fast. I remember being in the car after a night out drinking and celebrating the life that we have always wanted to live. The car ride wasn't fascinating at first, but we decided that we had to stop in a few cities before we got to our place in Portland.

Driving 12 Hours from Miami, we made it to New Orleans. Spent the night at a pirate's bar, Lafitte Blacksmith shop bar, and left in the early morning.

7 Hours later we arrived in Austin where we ate some great tacos for dinner and breakfast.

That morning we realized that our next planned destination of Pheonix would have hindered our time frame, so we decided to stop in El Paso for some more Mexican food and drive straight through to San Francisco.

17 hours all the way to San Francisco we took turns sleeping to see our friends. My old, stick shift civic, and I was unprepared for the hills. They took us to one of the coolest rum bars I've been to, Smuggler's Cove.

It seems as though we had a Mexican/Pirate theme going. I didn’t plan on any of that.

Leaving that following afternoon, we drove 10 hours to get to Portland. This is the short version of that story, but there was plenty of stress and fun had on that drive.

I wouldn't trade any of that for the world.

Exactly one year ago I could not even imagine what I'm doing right now. Since Deanna and I have gotten accustomed to doing this, we decided to add a new member to the Backpacks + Controllers team. He doesn't have much experience yet. He's napping right now.

His name is Senzu (like the Dragonball series Senzu bean), and he's three months old.

Senzu is half Corgi and half Pomeranian. He is going to be a small dog, but he is full of energy.

I'm glad he will be joining in our adventure. THE HYPE IS REAL!
